Restore, Recharge, Reclaim Retreat: A Journey to Inner Peace

Last weekend was a transformative experience. I, Yoga Instructor Hannah Mittel (@bmore_yoga), alongside Holistic Nutritional Coach Tara Wilson (@nourishbytara), organized the Restore, Recharge, Reclaim Retreat at Nourishing Journey. We welcomed six amazing participants who approached the event with open hearts. The positive energy in the room was palpable.
A Day of Healing and Connection
The day started with gentle yoga, helping participants tune into their bodies. Following that, we engaged in a group reiki meditation. This practice allowed everyone to connect deeply with themselves and with each other. Tara provided samples of her incredible energy bars. Each bite contributed to our well-being, and we felt stress dissipate with every passing activity.
As the retreat unfolded, we concluded with a meaningful manifestation ceremony. Using cinnamon and bay leaves, we symbolically released our burdens and welcomed tranquility. Participants expressed their interest in future sessions, possibly even an overnight experience! I feel excited about planning future events to share Reiki with everyone.
Understanding Nervous System Overwhelm
While reflecting on our experiences, several key themes emerged related to chronic nervous system overwhelm. These themes resonate with so many of us who feel the weight of daily stress.
Storing Stress: We often store stress in our bodies. Under pressure, we can hold tension in unexpected areas. This can lead to injury, chronic pain, or illness.
Desire for Calm: Many participants expressed a desire to return to a state of calm and stillness. They described their lives as chaotic. Finding time or mental space to enjoy the calming effects of stillness can be challenging.
Connecting to Authentic Selves: A significant theme was the need to connect with our true selves. The world often imposes expectations and standards. This can distance us from our natural selves. It becomes easy to lose sight of what once brought us joy.
The Power of Ritual: The manifestation ritual offered us a special opportunity. It symbolically allowed us to release chronic overwhelm while welcoming peace and stillness into our lives.
The Role of Nutrition in Wellness
Nutrition plays a crucial part in our overall wellness. Tara's insights as a Holistic Nutritional Coach helped many at the retreat understand the link between what we eat and how we feel. She highlighted the importance of clean, nourishing food, showing us how to elevate our energy levels naturally.

Tara’s energy bars were a huge hit. Not only do they offer nutritional benefits, but they also provide a quick energy boost. This makes them perfect for those busy days.
